Tom Correia nasceu em Salvador, Bahia. Escritor-fotógrafo com formação em Jornalismo e Especialização em Escrita e Criação [em curso], tem trajetória híbrida que envolve projetos em Literatura e Fotografia de rua. Além de idealizador e editor da revista Laroyê, foi Diretor do Livro e Leitura da Fundação Pedro Calmon e curador de duas edições do Festival Literário Nacional · Flin e da Festa Literária Internacional de Cachoeira · Flica. Com participação em diversas coletâneas, já publicou diversos livros de contos e atualmente desenvolve um projeto de um breve romance afrofuturista. Em 2024, foi um dos autores selecionados para o programa Black Artist Residency, promovido pela Library of Africa and the African Diaspora [LOATAD] em parceria com a Hawthornden Foundation, para vivenciar uma imersão em Acra, capital de Gana. Antes, participou de residência artística no Instituto Sacatar e no Hangar onde desenvolveu uma série que resultou em um fotolivro abordando a invisibilidade do negro na fotografia portuguesa. Este trabalho foi selecionado pelo 2º Colóquio de Fotografia da Bahia, pela Incubadora de Publicações Gráficas da RV Cultura e Arte e convidado para a exposição coletiva "Olhares transversos" na Roberto Alban Galeria.

Tom Correia was born in Salvador, Bahia. Writer-photographer with a degree in Journalism and a Specialization in Writing and Creation* [in progress], he has a hybrid trajectory that involves projects in Literature and Street Photography. In addition to being the creator and editor of Laroyê magazine, he was Director of Books and Reading at the Pedro Calmon Foundation and curator of two editions of the National Literary Festival · Flin and the International Literary Festival of Cachoeira · Flica. Having participated in several collections, he has published several books of short stories and is currently developing a project for a brief Afrofuturist novel. In 2024, he was one of the authors selected for the Black Artist Residency program, promoted by the Library of Africa and the African Diaspora [LOATAD] in partnership with the Hawthornden Foundation, to experience an immersion in Accra, the capital of Ghana. Previously, he participated in an artistic residency at Instituto Sacatar and Hangar where he developed a series that resulted in a photobook addressing the invisibility of black people in Portuguese photography. This work was selected by the 2nd Photography Colloquium of Bahia, by the Graphic Publications Incubator of RV Cultura e Arte and invited to the collective exhibition "Olhares transversos" at Roberto Alban Galeria.
